Choosing not to overreact to the evolution of AI.

10/7/2025

Recently, I have been against the evolution of AI and new services, I decided to stop overreacting.

When Claude Code came out, when Mapify came out, when Lavable came out, Every time it felt like 'the world has changed again'. And the videos of YouTubers explaining it, I watched them in Japanese, in English and sometimes in Chinese. At first it was exciting. But then one day I realised.

-This is all not digested in my mind.

No matter how much new technology you ingest, If you ask whether it is really making you happy, the answer is not. That is probably true for most engineers. The evolution of technology is indeed amazing. But **being awesome is not the same as being happy.**

Of course, we do not mean to denigrate those developing AI services. Rather, I look at them with respect. But me as a recipient, I think that 1% of the newness is enough to be accepted. The other 99%, over a cup of coffee, The other 99% is just enough for me to look at it over a cup of coffee and say, "Ah, the times they are a-comin'.

If we tried to take all evolution into ourselves, human capacity would soon be overflowing. And the engineers who create products, lose their axis** in that flood of information.

'I need to make something more amazing.' 'Maybe what I'm doing doesn't make sense anymore.' -That's how the mind wavers. But the truth is, it's not the world that's shaken, it's inside me.

So I would say. Don't be in a hurry. You don't need to chase the evolution of AI. **What you should be chasing is the rhythm of your own breathing.**

The world is changing fast enough already. So at least take your time. Look slowly, choose slowly, Still, surely, you can breathe life into your product.
