I have been working in a start-up for six years. During that time, I have had the opportunity to work with many foreign engineers. Southeast Asia, America, Europe. Even though they were from different countries, they were all remarkably similar.
Of course there are cultural differences. But what they had more in common was the kindness of the people. Engineers everywhere are basically indifferent and sincere. There may be harsh technical feedback, but there are no personality attacks. I enjoyed working with them and, above all, I felt safe.
My feeling in this industry is, *"there are very few human differences ". So if things don't work out in Japan, You can try in another country. Even if it's remotely or from a different location, You can try it remotely, you can try it in a different place.
The engineering profession is, 'a mobile profession'. Physically and psychologically. You can work wherever you are, with whoever you want. I think that is a great privilege of this age.
No matter how advanced AI is, Humans still have the ability to 'read the air'. The ability to sense the silence, sighs and laughter of others. That is a sense that AI does not yet possess. As long as that sense is alive, we are still needed in this world.
So if things don't work out at your current workplace, don't worry. There is surely another team waiting for you in the world. And somewhere in there, there are engineers who are just as friendly.
If only you had the strength to believe, You can do well again, even if where you are now is not good enough. The hope of the engineering profession lies in that kind of human "connection", I think the hope of the engineering profession lies in that kind of human "connection".
